There were 36 players on the 8th Grade Jr Jackets' roster for the Fall 2010 season.
Of those currently on the roster:
8th Grade Head Coach Leon Prickett
COACHING STAFF...
Head Coach Leon Prickett's coaching staff includes David Alexander, Ledell Burkhead, and Marcus Moore for the third season in a row, providing both continuity and a sense of shared mission among the coaches. Although not new to the Jr. Jackets program, Tom Boeck, Joe Dunn, and Mark Hatch are new additions to the 8th Grade coaching staff this season. In addition, Trevon "Predator" Burkhead (#7) serves as coaching assistant. Coach Prickett's success as Offensive Coordinator for the Atlanta Defenders during their 2010 NPSFL Championship season also bodes well for the 8th Grade offense.
OFFENSE...
The offense could be explosive. With plenty of size, power, and speed in the backfield and on the edges, the real question is how aggressively the line will play. The line has plenty of size and experience, but it could play "downhill" more often and with more attitude.
DEFENSE...
The defense promises to be stingy up the middle. The line has good size and the squad could have half a dozen solid linebackers to call upon. There are also many fast defensive backs eager to pick-off and break-up passes.
SPECIAL TEAMS...
The kicking game should be solid with several players able to perform punting and kicking duties. The return game looks to be exciting, as there is no shortage of speedsters who are clear threats to score on any given return.
Now that the season is over, it is time to recognize the outstanding efforts of the 8th Grade Jr Jacket players during the Fall 2010 season. These awards are based primarily on statistics through the first nine games (including preseason) and DO NOT represent, necessarily, the opinions of the coaches. Player profiles containing each players' individual career stats and the Statistical Leaders section containing Fall 2010 stats are presented below on this page.
