Jerick McKinnon is dazzling the NFL Scouts in his combine performance.

Former Sprayberry Yellow Jacket and Georgia Southern quarterback/running back Jerick McKinnon had a jaw dropping performance in the NFL Combine, running an official 4.35 40-yard dash and putting up 225 pounds on the bench press 32 times.

When a player can do a little bit of everything, his draft stock is going to rise quickly.

The former Yellow Jacket Quarterback Jerick McKinnon did a great job of making a good impression at the NFL Scouting Combine. Jerick helped lead Sprayberry to a Region Championship and 3 trips to the Georgia State Play Offs during his time at Sprayberry.

At Georgia Southern he shattered school records as a running back and quarterback.  This season, he broke Florida Gators fans' hearts as McKinnon ran for 125 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 24-20 upset victory over Florida.

His numbers at the NFL Combine were remarkable:

Event Stat Rank
Broad Jump 11'0" T-2nd
Vertical Jump 40'5"   3rd
Bench Press 32 reps T-8th
40-yard dash 4.41 sec   6th

McKinnon may have been tied for eighth in the bench press, but that doesn't do him any justice. Thirteen of the top 15 performers were offensive linemen, and the other player was a tight end. Not a bad job for a quarterback turned running back.

Check out the running back bench pressing:

*Note: Two of his reps did not count.

Here's a look at his second 40-yard dash attempt:

It's safe to say that McKinnon turned some heads in Indianapolis. We have known for years what a great person and player Jerick is, now its time to share him with the entire Nation.  Good luck Jerick you make us very proud!
